English Primary Foundations

Cantab Education’s English Foundations classes for 6-12 year olds are the perfect compliment to your child's schooltime English Language education. Using the Curriculum Development Councils’ and the Education and Manpowers guidelines for English Language instruction as our guidelines, Cantab Education are confident that our P1, P2, P3, P4, P5 and P6 classes not only match and complement schooltime language instruction, but actually allow students to develop to a much higher level than they could during their busy school lives.

It’s a busy time being a Primary student in Hong Kong these days with growing class sizes, added pressures to do well and short class times. Cantab understand the pressure on both student and parent and offer great opportunities to take a student’s current understanding of English to a new and exciting level. Using real world contexts, interesting age-relevant topics, interviews with real people, day trips, projects, blogs, newspapers, magazines, movies and much much more, not only do our students develop their basic language skills to new and exciting levels but they also develop their usage of the language to a new level and are able to use it to discuss relevant real world topics and not just discussing what their favourite food is or who is in their family.

The basics of a language are very important to us here at Cantab but so is the development of our students in the real world.

NOTE: All English Foundations classes at Cantab Education are ‘age specific’ meaning that we do not mix different grades. This means that unless certain students have greatly increased ability levels, students in P1 will always be with students from P1, students from P3 will always be together and so on.
