Cantab Projects

Have you ever wanted to know more about the the world that we live in? Its history? Its people?

Cantab Education’s ‘Cantab Projects’ class offers the perfect opportunity to work on individual and group based projects covering a very wide range of subjects. Some of the 2007 / 2008 projects have covered topics such as:

  • The Race for Space
  • Ancient or Modern Wonders
  • The Rise and Fall of the Roman Empire
  • Electricity Wars: Tesla and Edison
  • A Hong Kong History
  • The Travels of Zheng He

Class Sizes

All Cantab Projects classes have a maximum of seven students. We feel that this allows the group to develop together while at the same time allowing enough individual time to use the internet for research or the computer to format their work.

Content and Structure

Each Cantab Projects session will run over a period of some six to eight weeks depending on the content of the course. At the end of each course, students will not only have discovered a whole world of information about an exciting subject but will have developed their research and assignment abilities to a much higher level. Students will also have composed a 15 to 30 page project book made up from their research, in their words and pictures and always in English. The skills learnt by students in this class will ensure that they will adapt to life in upper primary and secondary education at a much higher level.

Who is it for?

Cantab Projects classes have been designed to cover two different sets of students:

Group 1

Group 1 students would be expected to be upper Primary 5, average to upper Primary 6 and early Form/Secondary 1

Group 2

Group 2 students would be expected to be upper primary 6, average to upper Form/Secondary 1 and early Form/Secondary 2 students

All classes are delivered in English by qualified Native English Teachers (NETs)
